If you're like me, you'll find it advantageous to alternate between the two routines. On days when my chops feel fresh and I want more of a workout in my warm-up, I'll use the 20 Minute Routine.
On days when my chops are tired, perhaps from a long gig the night before, I'll opt for the 15 Minute Routine. The first 15 tracks on the CD include a demonstration of the exercises by Phil Smith on trumpet (Phil is Principal Trumpet with New York Philharmonic). These tracks will give the player a model or guide to work from. Tracks 16-30 are the same tracks as 1-15 minus the trumpet.
